AN INTRODUCTION

"It's 1991. The World Wide Web didn't really exist back then. You could only do so much. Pick up a guitar, bang on some drums and try your darndest to bellow some tunes. Hopefully, if you had a couple of mates who were similarly dis-engaged from what little of a life around then, you had a band. And if you were really lucky, you might have been able to find a two-track recorder lurking somewhere within your reach. Don and Leslie were two such lucky souls.

To be honest, they were an odd duo. Leslie looking the introverted sensitive soul against the larger-than-life hair that was Don's hair. Leslie's sensitive crooning against Don's manic guitar solos. I had always been drawn though to the insane tunes they made together. Mad enough to decide that spending some of the hard earned cash from my hours toiling in a 2nd-hand book store, on mass producing tapes of the duo's bedroom recordings was a decidedly good idea. I wish that we had the World Wide Web back then. I wish there had been Myspace. I wish we had last.fm. No crappy, flimsy, analogue cassette tapes that could barely play more than 15 times.

Why should anyone be interested in bedroom tracks recorded on a beat-up two-track recorder more than 15 years ago? Why shouldn't you? Two guys, sincerity and the best tunes you could hope for."
